Prevention is always better than treatment. A long time ago, we had a very well-balanced diet with lots of calcium, which helped support our teeth. Now, due to our evaluation, we don’t have those minerals and vitamins as much. The sugar in some foods breaks down molecules in our teeth and starts decaying them. The reason we humans have developed to having such weak teeth is due to our diet changes and other enviormental factors. So to stay safe, it is recommended to regularly visit a dentist every 6 months for checkups; brush your teeth regularly once or twice a day; and also, what I believe is important is always fixing your diet; eating less sugar and less preserved meals overall helps not only your teeth grow strong but also the rest of your body.
what do you do now ?
Keep the message going. If you see someone around you who is not visiting their healthcare specialist on a monthly basis, disregarding their health, try and checkup on them; educate them about oral healthcare. It is our role to keep up with the people we love.
